The second Regional Migration Review Forum (RMRF) for the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration (GCM), within the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) region, took place on 11 March 2024 in Geneva.
In view of the upcoming 2024 Regional Migration Review Forums (RMRFs) and 2026 IMRF, the AC is pleased to announce the publication of our IMRF 2022 Assessment Paper, a key document outlining collective takeaways and unpacking barriers to civil society engagement. The central part of this paper revolves around eleven commitments and action points that will guide the AC’s advocacy to prompt receptive and more inclusive measures by UN Member States, international organisations, and other stakeholders.
Global civil society has responded with both relief and disappointment to UN Member States’ consensus approval of the formal outcome of the first International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) on 17–20 May that assessed implementation of the Global Compact for Migration.
