The Civil Society Action Committee is proud to announce the release of its mapping report “Civil Society 2019 Engagement in Global Compact for Migration Implementation with a Post-COVID-19 Outlook”.

2019 was the first year for implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM). To track and analyze civil society engagement in GCM implementation-related activities, the AC undertook an organized mapping of its members’ GCM-related activities. This mapping then gave an indication of where and how civil society was engaging in GCM implementation during the course of 2019.

The report produced some insightful findings which are followed by a set of recommendations for both civil society as well as States and other stakeholders.  The report also reviews the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on GCM implementation, and offers indications of how civil society may strategically proceed in GCM engagement within this context.
